About Me

Welcome! I'm Ashleigh Barber, an Educational and Developmental Psychologist dedicated to providing compassionate and evidence-based support to children and their families.

As a neuroaffirming practitioner, I believe in a strengths and rights-based approach to developmental differences. My goal is to provide support and adaptations that affirm a child's identity, whatever their neurotype, rather than thinking that a child needs therapy to fix them or cure them of their diagnosis. In fact, I believe that a diagnosis does not automatically mean a person should receive therapy.

My professional interests include creative and expressive therapies like play and art, psychological and educational assessments, and getting diagnoses right. I am passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every child can feel comfortable to be themselves.
I believe that relationships and connection are at the heart of what psychologists do and are key to the growth and learning we can achieve.
